Terms of use
Short version: nonyxa is a daily photo check-in that helps you quit nail biting. Use it honestly, keep your photos yours, don't try to break it, and remember it's a habit tool — not a doctor. Using the site or the app means you agree to what's below. Here's the detail.
What nonyxa is
These terms cover two things: this website (including the waitlist) and the nonyxa iOS app. Once a day the app has you photograph both hands, finds your ten fingertips, and asks you to swipe each one clean or damaged. Honest days build a streak. That's the product — a self-tracking ritual, nothing more exotic.
What it costs
Right now, nothing. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no paid tier. If that ever changes, we'll say so clearly before you're charged anything — pricing will be visible up front, never a surprise on a bill. We'll update this page when it happens.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age your country sets for digital services). If you make an account, keep your login to yourself — what happens under your account is on you, so tell us at support@nonyxa.com if you think someone else got in.
Your photos and your data
Your hand photos are yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you capture in the app. You give us only the narrow permission we need to run the service — storing your photos and check-ins so the app can show you your own history and streaks. We never publish your photos, sell them, or use them for advertising. How data is handled in detail lives on the privacy page, and you can have your account and everything in it deleted by emailing support@nonyxa.com.
Not medical advice
nonyxa is a habit-tracking tool, not a medical device, and nothing in the app or on this site is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The clean/damaged verdicts are your own judgment of your own photos. If nail biting is causing you pain, infection, or real distress — or it's part of something bigger you're struggling with — please talk to a doctor or a mental-health professional. The app is a companion to quitting, not a substitute for care.
Playing fair
Things you agree not to do:
- Break the law with it, or upload photos of anyone who hasn't agreed to be photographed.
- Probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or try to get at other people's data or accounts.
- Copy, scrape, resell, or rebrand the app, the site, or their content as your own.
- Reverse-engineer the app, except where the law says we can't stop you.
What's ours
The app, the site, the nonyxa name and mark, and the design and code behind them belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose — tracking your own habit. That license isn't a sale, and it ends if your account does.
Early days
nonyxa is young and built by a small team, so the honest framing is: the service is provided as is. Features will change, things will occasionally break, and we may pause or retire parts of the service. We work hard to not lose your data, but you shouldn't treat the app as the only copy of anything irreplaceable. We don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we disclaim the implied warranties the law lets us disclaim.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using (or being unable to use) nonyxa, and our total liability for anything arising out of these terms is capped at the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months — which today is zero. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as local law permits. None of this limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Ending things
You can stop using nonyxa any time, and you can have your account and data deleted by emailing support@nonyxa.com. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms — if that ever seems to have happened to you by mistake, email us and a person will actually look at it.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters — like introducing pricing — we'll update this page and flag the change in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use nonyxa after a change means you accept the new terms; if you don't, stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.
The legal frame
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and disputes belong in the courts there — unless the consumer law where you live gives you rights and venues we can't override, in which case you keep them. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands.
